blue skies

Like water, she ripples above me
As vast and beautiful as the ocean herself
She reaches as far as the eye can see
In hopes of arriving to the place where they meet
I ask,
“Sky, how far will you go?
When do you stop? How do you know?”
She replies
“I rest by the moon
As she sings to my love
I tell her, I will see her soon.”
I watch as the waves rise
Stretching, yearning, reaching
A lover’s attempt to reach her sky
Knowing the truth, filled my heart with pain.
I say,
“..but you’ll never meet.”

Then she sent rain.
